Curriculum - BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice

The BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice program consists of 120 credit hours. Students complete 36 credit hours within the Criminal Justice major.

General Education and Core Curriculum Requirements

  • 6-8 hours of computer or foreign language (3 hours of the computer requirement is satisfied by ST 260)
  • 6 hours of freshman composition (satisfied by EN 101 and EN 102)
  • 3 hours of math (MATH 110 Finite Mathematics or higher)
  • 12 hours of history, social and behavioral sciences (3 hours of history and 9 hours of other HI and SB courses)
  • 12 hours of humanities and fine arts (3 hours of fine arts, 3 hours of literature and 6 hours of other fine arts, literature or humanities courses. Each student must complete a 6-credit-hour sequence in either literature or history.)
  • 8 hours of natural sciences 

Students will also be required to complete a minor in Communication Studies or Computing Technology and Applications.
