Build on Bama

Whether you have recently received a degree from The University of Alabama or are entering one of our programs for the first time, welcome to the Capstone!

To help you get started, we’re offering the Build on Bama tuition grant, equal to the cost of one 3-credit-hour course during your first semester of enrollment in a UA Online degree program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Build on Bama grant:

  • You must be a UA graduate or referred by a UA Online graduate.
  • You must be newly admitted to a UA Online degree program.

Application Priority Deadlines for the Grant

  • Fall semester – August 1
  • Spring semester – December 1
  • Summer semester – May 1

What is Build on Bama?

Build on Bama is an initiative that encourages UA Online graduates to continue their education. Graduates can also refer friends or family members to enroll in a UA Online degree program at The University of Alabama.

How do I know if I am eligible for the Build on Bama tuition grant?

To be eligible for the Build on Bama tuition grant, you must either:

  • Be a UA graduate and be admitted to another UA Online degree program that builds on your current Bama degree(s)
  • Receive a referral card from a UA Online graduate and be admitted to a UA Online degree program

All referring graduates will be verified and contacted

When can I use my Build on Bama tuition grant?

Your Build on Bama tuition grant will be applied during the first semester of enrollment in a UA Online degree program.

How much will it cost?

I don’t live in Alabama. Will out-of-state tuition be charged?

Students enrolled in a UA Online degree program or admitted as an online, non-degree seeking student pay the same distance learning tuition rate regardless of residency. Please note that the tuition rate does not include any course or test-proctoring fees.

What kind of financial aid is available?

Financial aid is available to UA Online students. To apply for federal financial aid (including possible federal grants and loans), complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. If you have further questions about financial aid, visit UA Student Financial Aid.
