Students admitted to the Two-Year Distance Learning Program for the summer of 2011 will complete their first-year classroom courses on Saturdays. Students also complete a 500-clock-hour field education course in the spring semester; field education cannot be completed only on Saturdays; a minimum of two full days per week during regular work hours are required. Second-year (concentration) courses are available primarily online with some face-to-face skills labs held at regionally convenient locations. Students complete a 500-clock-hour field education course in the second year as well as in the first year. (Note: for summer 2011, the two-year Saturday program is available face-to-face on the Tuscaloosa campus and in Gadsden. Beginning in summer 2012, the DL program will be a primarily online program available to students across the state and in neighboring states.)
