| Description : |
A five-week summer program for rising high school seniors from rural Alabama, the Rural Health Scholars Program gives students a chance to experience college life. Scholars live on campus, take two college courses for credit, participate in seminars and field trips, and receive orientation about health careers. This program was founded to encourage high school students to consider careers in medicine and other health professions and return to rural areas in Alabama to practice.
