Do you desire to become an advocate for your patients and develop a deeper nurse-patient relationship? Is specializing in a specific type of care something that interests you?

If so, earn your MSN in Case Management from The University of Alabama to become a leader in this field.

As a Case Manager, you will work closely with patients and their families to develop a long-term health care plan that considers their preferences and goals. Typically, Case Managers work with patients diagnosed with one type of disease like HIV/AIDs or cancer, or they work with patients in a specific age group such as children or the elderly.

As one of the only Case Management programs in the Southeast, UA's Capstone College of Nursing is committed to helping nurses advance their careers. The MSN in Case Management is offered online to accommodate demanding work schedules.

Those who earn a Master of Science in Nursing Case Management:

  • Hold leadership positions in a variety of health care settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation clinics or as independent consultants.
  • Develop long-term relationships with patients as they ensure that patients are receiving optimal and cost-effective care.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of patient care and services for assigned cases.
  • Take the lead in conducting research, analyzing data and coordinating patient care with all members of the patient’s health care team.
