Curriculum - Graduate Certificate in Environmental Health & Safety Management

The required (3 credit hour) courses for the certificate are as follows:

  • HES 512 Introduction to Environmental Health & Safety Management*
  • HES 513 Occupational Health & Safety Law
  • HES 514 Health & Safety Regulations & Regulatory Compliance
  • HES 516 Practical Statistics for Safety Professionals
  • HES 518 Environmental Law

*Required to be taken the first semester of study.

Master's Degree Option

You may apply all 15 hours of coursework from the graduate certificate in Environmental Health & Safety Management toward the Master of Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences (General Studies). To complete the master course of study, you would need to take only 9 additional hours of coursework within the College of Human Environmental Sciences, in addition to 3 hours of Research Methods and 3 hours of Practicum/Capstone Experience.
