The (4) 1 hour credit courses offered through Discovering Alabama are: Biodiversity, Physical Environment, Terrestrial Ecology and Environmental Stewardship. Topics are arranged by separate section numbers so that students can register for the special topics area of their choice. All BSC 497/695 students will be evaluated based on their participation and on projects specified by the instructors.
Sessions are offered over four weekends during the 2017 Summer term at 205 Smith Hall on The University of Alabama campus on Fridays 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays early a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
July 7 - 8: Discovering Alabama: Physical Environment (BSC 497 - 971; BSC 695 - 971)
July 14 - 15: Discovering Alabama: Terrestrial Ecology (BSC 497 - 972; BSC 695 - 972)
July 21 - 22: Discovering Alabama: Biodiversity (BSC 497 - 973; BSC 695 - 973)
July 28 - 29: Discovering Alabama: Environmental Stewardship (BSC 497 - 974; BSC 695 - 974)
Students must gain admission to The University of Alabama prior to registering for courses.
Undergraduate students should register for BSC 497 sections and tuition for BSC 497 is $355 per credit hour.
Graduate students should register for BSC 695 sections and tuition for BSC 695 is $375 per credit hour. If students are not currently admitted to a degree program, a non-degree application must be completed.
