Admission - Special Education Collaborative 6-12 Certification

To be considered for admission to the MA program students must meet the following requirements:

  • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, a 3.0 average for the last 60 semester hours in a degree program, or a 3.0 or higher in a completed graduate degree program
  • A minimum of 300 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the revised GRE or a score no lower than then 50th percentile on the MAT

A completed application includes official transcripts from all institutions attended, three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and a Graduate School application. Please visit the University of Alabama Graduate School website for more information on the application process.

To be considered for admission to the Alternative MA program students must meet the following requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree including 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of general studies courses in humanities, social science, laboratory science, and mathematics (at or above the level of college algebra)

Individuals interested in the alternative program must submit appropriate paperwork to the College of Education Student Services and Certification Office for a transcript evaluation prior to admission.
