The concentration in Consumer Affairs prepares students for careers as consumer specialists in government, business, industry, communication, and research.  Students develop the ability to analyze issues from the perspective of consumers, businesses, and governments, and to communicate these issues.  Graduates enter careers related to consumer affairs, consumer education, marketing, and sales. Many Fortune 500 companies have a consumer affairs department. In addition, many newspapers, magazines, and television stations are focusing on consumer education or areas related to mediation of consumer grievances.
