Need Help Getting Started?

If you are a new distance learning student, you will find everything you need to know about getting started, preparing for class and making the most of your college experience.

Login to myBama

The myBama portal is your online source for access to all University of Alabama services. Here you can access courses, check email, register for classes, and purchase textbooks. To access myBama, click here and using your username and password, sign into the system. If you do not have a username, click on the link titled "Create your password (new users)" located to the right of the sign-in area and follow the instructions.

Register for Classes

If you have been admitted to The University of Alabama and are a current student, register for classes through the myBama. You can click on the Student tab and follow the instructions to register for a distance course.

Purchase Textbooks

The University of Alabama Supply Store is your online source for official University of Alabama textbooks, apparel, and gifts. Visit the University Supply Store to place your order. Textbooks can also be purchased through myBama.

Use your University Email

Your Crimson Gmail account is created for you when you first enroll. This is your official University of Alabama email address. All communications about events, registration, and financial aid will be sent here. To access your Crimson Gmail account, simply log in to myBama.

Take a Blackboard Tutorial

As a distance learning student you have your own private Blackboard page. Click here to take the online tutorial to learn how to take quizzes, submit assignments, view your calendar and interact with students.

Take Proctored Tests

You take proctored tests on-campus or, if you live 50 miles away or farther from the Tuscaloosa campus, at a regionally accredited two or four year college or university. Click here for policies, instructions and forms.
