The Master of Arts in Management evening degree is a 30 credit hour program designed for line managers, mid-level supervisors, administrators, and human resource managers. Most students take two courses each fall and spring term and complete the program in two and a half years. The primary mission of the program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage an organization. The practicing manager who graduates from the program will be trained to solve the growing array of challenges posed in the work environment. In addition, the program addresses the needs of the functional manager desiring additional skill in employee management.
The courses reflect the current state of management theory and practice and were developed with the input of industry leaders. Courses such as Strategic Human Resources Management, Performance Management, Research Methods, and Change Management provide opportunities for students to develop skills in areas vital to organizational effectiveness.
The program is designed to be flexible. Degree programs can be designed that focus on specialized areas such as health care administration, small business management, or international business. Most students complete the program in two and a half years.
